POSITION
Summary: This position covers a wide array of activities, including, but not limited to the design and implementation of Networks (LAN & WAN), Storage (SAN & NAS), Virtualized Environments (VMware & Hyper-V) as well as Microsoft Operating Systems. This position also requires the ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects and also provide remote administration, troubleshooting & support. Excellent customer service, organization, time management and problem solving skills are essential.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: Position duties include Pre-Sales Consulting; Network Design/Configuration; Project Installation; and Post-Installation Support of our Clients Network Infrastructures (we currently support Cisco and HP Networking systems) and related hardware/software in LAN/WAN environments. Additional duties include Project Management and frequent communication with clients, vendors and internal staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Participate in the daily operations required to design, implement and manage Networked Environments including Windows, VMware, Storage and IP Telephony technologies
Provide LAN/WAN administration and support (HP/Cisco)
Provide Backup, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity support & administration
Proactively learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as appropriate
Aid in the development of written processes, including configuration checklists and best practices, in order to increase availability for assigned systems
Meet with customers regularly (Pre-Sales Engineering, Installation and Support)
Complete configuration/installation of various projects as assigned by management
Provide post-installation troubleshooting and problem resolution
Assist in pre-sales activities as directed by management in order to identify client requirements and system specifications for client proposals
Provide required documentation of daily activities for billing purposes
Actively participate in continuing self-education and company-sponsored certification/training initiatives in order to meet personal growth goals and company/vendor requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred Certifications include:
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
VMware vSphere 4 or vSphere 5 Certifications
HP ASE
Other Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years experience working in a Microsoft Server environment
Minimum of 5 years experience designing, implementing, managing & troubleshooting networks
Minimum of 3 years experience working with SAN technology, ideally HP and EMC
Minimum of 3 years experience working in a VMware environment
