Work on programming projects that enhance the clients capabilities. This will include enhancing existing reporting capabilities, improving system sustainability and handling the business intelligence needs that arise from other company initiatives. Design and write programs that will extract data from the reporting database to be delivered to partners, insurance regulators, statistical reporting agencies and vendors. Work closely with end users to analyze needs and develop solutions for those needs. Improve the health of system assets by identifying opportunities to improve performance, reliability and resource consumption. Evaluate and trouble-shoot production issues and perform root cause analysis; determine corrective actions and propose improvements to prevent problems from reoccurring. Work in a team environment and collaborate with peers and users through all phases of the software development life cycle. Test all code and programs prior to releasing to the quality assurance process, quickly resolve all issues identified in the testing process. Maintain up to date business domain knowledge and technical skills in business intelligence technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
Experience in performance tuning queries and procedures. 5
years of development experience in a business intelligence or reporting role. Experience using Oracle and/or SQL Server database platforms. Experience writing Unix shell scripts.
Education
Bachelor degree in Computer Science
