This role will develop a team of hungry staff, establish KPIs to drive accountability, and play an instrumental role in assisting the organization in achieving its priorities including the pursuit of organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
The business has recently become a 100% employee-owned organization (ESOP) and this is a great opportunity to join the leadership team in taking it to the next phase of their growth.
Manufacturing experience is required, metal fabrication experience is a plus.
Our client is headquartered in De Pere, Wisconsin and this role is expected to be onsite.
A relocation package is available if needed.
The Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities:
Oversight and leadership of all manufacturing processes and procedures.
Manage floor capacity and throughput via Shop-Trak dispatch to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of quality products to customers.
Development and oversight of continuous improvement/technology/automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Oversight of the Quality Department to ensure proper inspection of product, compliance with ISO, and other quality standards.
Oversight of the Safety Department to ensure a safe work environment and compliance with laws.
Oversight of the Maintenance Department to ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities with minimal production downtime.
Ongoing evaluations of manufacturing equipment and capabilities.
Analyze and cost justify the need for new or replacement equipment.
Monitor manufacturing metrics and financial information to identify opportunities for improvement.
Assist in creating annual capital and financial budgets.
Monitor and manage plant capacity and execution of manufacturing timelines.
Analyze the potential for increased capacity and assist in the evaluation of expansion opportunities.
Work with support departments including shipping/receiving, material handling, purchasing, scheduling, and inventory to ensure the company is meeting customer expectations, working toward continuous improvement in internal processes, and limiting direct labor downtime.
Work with Human Resources to develop training, recruiting, and onboarding plans.
Assist in developing career paths for employees emphasizing employee engagement and retention.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:
10
years of manufacturing leadership experience required.
Experience in a multi-plant and high growth environment strongly preferred.
Experience leading cross-functional teams through influence and achieving goals aligned with company objectives.
Proven ability to express information and ideas professionally throughout all levels of the organization.
Experience utilizing analyses, financial information, and metrics to make informed decisions and generate ideas to improve overall business performance.
Experience overseeing the production lifecycle from start to finish, managing budgets, and managing manufacturing capacity.
Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Knowledge in Syteline and Shop-Trak a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word and Excel.
Knowledge of the metal fabrication industry a plus.
